Where the Sinners are Winners

My series, Where the Sinners Are Winners, explores Las Vegas - the smoking section of the West.

A hot, dry, shimmering theme-park of a city, Vegas circulates a steady stream of calloused business types, horny frat boys, bored retirees, middle aged golf buddies, gambling addicts, wedding parties, and curious foreigners. This transient population mostly spend their time working trade-shows, boozing, lounging pool-side (boozing),

depleting exotic buffets, ogling strippers, collecting souvenirs, getting married, pushing buttons on ringing machines, and watching variousb, c, d, and e-list entertainers.

Las Vegas is an amazingly ostentatious city whose excesses, though often gaudy, embody the freedom of action and unbridled capitalism that has come to represent America. In my work, Where the Sinners are Winners, I seek to go beyond the glossy TV and movie representations of Las Vegas, and examine what this iconic town is really like.
