Floating in Space

Floating in Space is a collection of documentary photographs I made during the last five years while exploring my native North Carolina. Many have claimed that all photos are really self portraits. Keeping that in mind, these photographs seem to be as much about me as they are about North Carolina or America. They reflect my view of a strange and unknowable, yet somehow beautiful world. At the same time they also capture a new South, which is changing in ways that are both predictable and unexpected.
